Karnataka Urban Water Supply & Drainage Board (KUWS&DB)

·              The Karnataka Urban Water Supply & Drainage Board is responsible for design formulation and implementation of Water Supply & under Ground Drainage projects in 270 urban areas of the State. The completed schemes are handed over to the concerned local bodies for further maintenance

·          The Government accorded approval to the Board Action plan for the year 2015-16 amounting to Rs.573.17 crores.There are 87 ongoing schemes (34 water supply schemes & 53 UGD schemes) Among these schemes the Board has targeted to commission 17 schemes (11 Water Supply schemes at an estimated cost of Rs.413.27 crores and 6 UGD schemes at an estimated cost of Rs.88.05 crores).

·      During the last 3 years (2013-14 to 2015-16) the Government accorded administrative approval to the 5 water supply schemes at an estimated cost of Rs 202.0 crores and 3 under ground drainage schemes at an estimated cost of  Rs 162.0 crores.

·      During the last 3 years ( 2013-14 to 2015-16) the Board has commissioned  the  23 water supply schemes at an estimated cost of Rs. 719 crores and 10 Under ground Drainage schemes at an estimated cost of Rs 146 crores.

·         It is proposed to commission 11 water supply schemes at an estimated cost of Rs.463 crores and 8 Underground drainage schemes at an estimated cost of   Rs .245  crores during 2016-17.
