Karnataka Municipal Reforms Project (KMRP)




















The Karnataka Municipal Reforms Project (KMRP) aims to improve the quality 
of life of citizens by improving the delivery of urban services and promoting good 
governance among the urban local bodies (ULBs). KMRP addresses the need to 
strengthen institutional and financial frame works in Urban Service Delivery at ULB 
level. The total funding for this project is Rs.1364 cr.

The expenditure incurred as on March 2016 is Rs. 1251.04 cr. The component wise 
details are as follows;


Institutional Development Component: (Rs. 102.4 Crore)
·         Computerization of Basic Municipal Functions- 164 ULBs

·         Land Management and Planning in 27 Urban areas

·         Implementation of Accounting and budgeting reforms - 158 ULBs

·         Capacity Building
       The expenditure incurred under this component as on March 2016 is Rs. 79.78 cr.


Municipal Investment Support Component- Rs 419 Cr  
·         The expenditure incurred under this component as on March 2016 is Rs. 321.25 cr.

Bangalore Development Component- Rs 791 Cr
·         Bangalore Road Rehabilitation Program:
·         Greater Bangalore Under-Ground Drainage (GB-UGD) Program - Rs.1184 cr
 (dovetailed with JnNURM)

Greater Bangalore Pro-Poor Sanitation Program:
·         Construction of Low cost sanitation units
 About 1991 LCS units have been constructed in the slum settlements under the
 Greater Bangalore pro-poor sanitation program.

·         The expenditure incurred under this component as on March 2016 is Rs. 781.99 cr.
