Kaup to be converted into a Centre
In charge Minister Vinay Kumar Sorake in Kaup Development committee review meeting.
Kaup : District in charge Minister Vinay Kumar Sorake said
that there are 29 GP’s in Kaup Assembly constituency but there is not even a
single town Panchayat/Municipality. For this reason there is a dream to convert
Kaup area into a town Panchayat or Municipality keeping it as center and using
various types of resources through the Urban Development Department
He was speaking in the Review meeting about Kaup
development held under the aegis of Kaup Development Committee.
Though there are 160 GP’s which can be converted into town
Panchayat based on population, he said that from the point of view of
development Kaup is intended to be converted into town panchayat on top
priority.

presided over the function. GP member Katapadi Shankara Poojari, TP member
Shambhavi Kulal, Kaup GP president Usha Shenoy, Uliyaragoli GP President
Pradeep Kumar, Development committee office bearers Madhava Palan, Rathnakar
Hege, Manohar Shetty, Gangadhar Suvarna, Yogish Shetty were present.
Rs. 51 Crore has been sanctioned for the drinking water project of
Kaup Assembly constituency through the Urban Development Department and
proposal has been submitted to the tune of Rs.32 Crores for the underground
drainage project. Out of this already Rs.3 Crore grant has been released.
