· The Karnataka Urban Water
Supply & Drainage Board is responsible for design formulation and
implementation of Water Supply & under Ground Drainage projects in 270
urban areas of the State. The completed schemes are handed over to the
concerned local bodies for further maintenance
· The Government accorded
approval to the Board Action plan for the year 2015-16 amounting to Rs.573.17
crores.There are 87 ongoing schemes (34 water supply schemes & 53 UGD
schemes) Among these schemes the Board has targeted to commission 17 schemes
(11 Water Supply schemes at an estimated cost of Rs.413.27 crores and 6 UGD
schemes at an estimated cost of Rs.88.05 crores).
· During the last 3 years
(2013-14 to 2015-16) the Government accorded administrative approval to the 5
water supply schemes at an estimated cost of Rs 202.0 crores and 3 under ground
drainage schemes at an estimated cost of
Rs 162.0 crores.
