THE HINDU BENGALURU, March 3, 2015
The long-pending "Akrama-Sakrama" scheme for regularisation of unauthorised constructions in urban areas, including Bengaluru, will implemented from March 23 for a period of one year.
Owners of buildings can submit applications to the urban local body concerned to regularise illegal constructions and construction of houses in revenue sites in ULBs.
Violations up to 50 per cent and 25 per cent would be regularised in case of residential and commercial properties, respectively.
Minister for Urban Development Vinay Kumar Sorake told presspersons here on Tuesday that the department has directed all ULBs, including Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP), to issue applications from March 23. Applications would also be made available in the Urban Development website.
Under the scheme, violations pertaining to setback, floor area ratio, non-conversion of agricultural land and formation of unauthorised layouts and sites under ULBs would be regularised, he said.
All buildings constructed before October 19, 2013, are eligible for regularisation. The BBMP alone expected to mobilise Rs 5,000 crore to Rs 6000 crore by implementing the scheme.
A separate fund would be set up in each ULB to park funds received under the Akrama Sakrama scheme, Mr Sorake said.
Though the State government had issued the final notification under the Karnataka Town and Country Planning Act in June last year, it was kept pending owing to a stay order by the Karnataka High Court. The court recently gave the green signal to implement the scheme.
The Congress government was keen on implementing the scheme, particularly in Bengaluru, as the BBMP will go to polls in May this year and it will also earn good revenue to the government.
My question to urban development minister or the body constituted for akrama sakrama is:
ReplyDeleteUnder the above scheme, is the building constructed violating the building plan/sanctioned plan
Ex: No basement allowed if the plot area is less than 200 Sq Mts ,
I have seen no of basement constructed in less tha 40X50 Ft plot area, can it be regularised once akrama sakrama implemented?
Appreciate response from the authority.
