Getting down to the grass root for development.

In order to uplift village Panchayat system which is providing tri-level administrative system to provide fundamental facilities to people a proposal is being worked at the State Government for consideration....

Kapu, Sep 10: Urban Development minister and Udupi district in-charge minister Vinay Kumar Sorake said that In order to uplift village panchayat system which is providing tri-level administrative system to provide fundamental facilities to people, for this there is a plan before the state government to create one village panchayat to the areas where minimum 5 thousand and maximum 10 thousand people are living.
He was speaking while inaugurating Innanje village panchayat build with the cost of Rs. 65.41 lakhs nder Suvarna Grama Yojana.
Appointment of 53 surveyors
Regarding land survey of Udupi district, He said that due to the lack of income tax department officers’ more than 10,000 files are due for delivery and because of this, 53 surveyors have been appointed in order not to make delay for the reason of lack of officers. He also said that in future, government will try to deliver files by conducting tax adalat in each village.
Water: Rs. 50 crores
With the joint venture of Urban Development department and village development departments, new schemes will be formed to provide permanent solution to drinking water problem in several villages of the coastal areas of Udupi district. In Kapu constituency, Rs. 50 crores of huge cost work scheme is formed in order to provide drinking water. Survey work has also been started regarding this.
Municipality idea
Kapu constituency is recognized also as taluk head quarters. There may be at least one or two municipality; town municipality should be there is 29 village panchayats of Kapu constituency. Thereby it is possible to collect special incentives for the development of constituency through urban development department. As we have received proposals from many sides, we plan to form municipality in first stage by collaborating Kapu-Uliyaragoli-Mallaru villages.
Ex-MLA Lalaji R. Mendon, District Panchayat member Arun Shetty Paduru, president of Innanje village panchayat Dinesh Shetty, vice-president Vasanthi V. Acharya, operational managing officer of taluk panchayat Rajendra Bekal, president of Katapadi village panchayat Vinaya Ballal, president of Kurkalu village panchayat Bhuvanesh Pujari were present.
