Shri Narayana Guru Jayanthi

His egalitarian approach to society is something we should practice in his honor. Guru Narayana Swamy is best remembered as A Saint. A Guru. A Social Reformer, who rejected casteism and promoted new values of spiritual freedom and social equality. who firmly believed that all men are equal in the eye of God.

I was glad when i recieved an overwhelming number of invitations asking me to be part of various programs and puja's that was organised in Guruswamy's honor...

A day in appreciation and honor to every Teacher

"I salute all teachers for making a great contribution to the society by not just helping students achieve success in life, but also in-terms of inculcating rational thought and good human values in the impressionable young minds."

The day was marked with facilitation at the " District Teachers day " programme. Teachers from both aided and unaided primary and higher secondary schools recognised for their contribution.

...another  programme honoring teachers was organised at Brahmavar...

i met many students at the function who were filled with admiration for their teachers...and cheered them as they received their recognition.

A NEW STEP IN SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT

The pilot project in Mangalore is the First of its kind in Karnataka. Rapidly growing cities need effective waste management. It is also is the responsibility of the people to co-operate with the civic authorities in enabling to efficiently manage waste. Proper segregation and disposal is the key  to managing waste efficiently.

This new initiative will ensure that the waste is transported in covered disposal trucks unlike the open trucks. I appreciate the efforts of Mangalore City Corporation in order to address the issues of Solid Waste Management.
